Advent - My hope is in you! |
Our hope is in you Lord! With Advent we hope and anticipate the coming of our Lord, the Messiah, that weaves its way through our lives, through our circumstances, through our fears and worries. We yearn for a return of God’s dynamic presence in our midst. Isaiah 43:2 - “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” Our hope is in you Lord! Romans 8:24 – “For in this hope we were saved.” Romans 15:13 – “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”

How often do we sit in the seat of thanksgiving throughout the day? What does it mean to “give thanks in all circumstances”? And who are we teaching to say thanks along with us? Watch this beautiful video based on 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. |

Britain should become more Christian. |
So I found this interesting. Britain should become more Christian, according to Baroness Warsi, the only Muslim member of the Cabinet. She says: “We need to create a country where people don’t feel like they have to leave religion at the door. That means being proud of Christianity, not downgrading it. It means encouraging people to say that their faith inspires what they do.” She wants “to address head-on the supposed conflict of loyalty” between faiths such as Islam and Christianity. Different faith groups should talk more, to find areas of common ground. “This dialogue needs to be congregation to congregation, community to community,” she said. “Time and again, we encounter the assumption that some people of some faiths can be trusted while others cannot. Wow, when I first read this, I was amazed, a Muslim member of the Britisch Government advocating the Christian Faith. She is saying to us, start living as Jesus wanted you to live. Be inviting, be inspiring, be creative, be open to differences, be accepting of others and most importantly loving those who Jesus loves most. It’s the best way to communicate our faith, it’s what Barness Warsi sees in Christians and she wants more of it. I want more of it. Don’t you? Original Source: http://tgr.ph/tp73HU |

400th anniversary of the King James Bible |
Did you know that 2011, marks the 400th anniversary of the King James translation of the Bible. The Queen, who is Supreme Governor of the Church of England, the Duke of Edinburgh, and the Prince of Wales, who is patron of the King James Bible Trust, attended the service with the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams. The King James is not my favorite translation due to its age and old language it uses but I find it great to see that the Queen of England still honoring the Word of God, celebrating its existence for 400 years. Hebrews 4:12 says “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Even though it’s old, it is living and active today. We can celebrate its goodness, its guidance and direction, its correction in our lives. Thank you God for your word, written down in a book, for us to read and explore the richness of your Kingdom.

Super-duper Hydrophobic Spray |
Ross Technology Corp. needed a better way to reduce corrosion on the steel products. When they couldn’t find a suitable one, they worked on creating something on their own. And eventually they hit upon a slick product that’s led to a whole new business. That product is NeverWet, a silicon-based spray-on coating that repels water and heavy oils. Now you might be wondering why I am showing this little promotional video. Don’t worry I am not trying to sell you on it, although very cool and it could solve a lot of cleaning problems in my household of five children, I also saw a piece of God’s grace in this video clip. Watch the clip below. Imagine the Super-duper Spray being the Super-duper saving Grace of God. God sprays his grace on us when we acknowledge Jesus as our Savior. All the sin we are or were involved in, doesn’t stick to us anymore and will never stick to us anymore. It will just fall off. It’s like that brown chocolate on the shoe, keeping it bright white. I say, pretty cool invention Mr. Andy Jones and I praise God for his saving Grace. |

Why pray? |
This is probably the first question we should ask ourselves when we decide to pray. I came across this question when I was doing some research around prayer and keeping a prayer life journal. You might ask me, what do you mean, why pray? I grew up Christian and prayer was just one of those things that was instilled in me at an early age. I was taught to pray before my meals, to give thanks after them and before I went to bed. I never really questioned it. I just did it. How about you? You might not have grown up with prayer the way I did. You might be a skeptic and believe praying is a waste of time or you might be a new Christian and are exploring how to pray. There are so many answers to the question “why pray” and you could probably tell me all the things that need prayer in your life, in your friend’s life and in this world. It changes all the time and our dependence on God is great. We need a lot of things and we need a lot of answers. The most beautiful answer I have read is that when we pray, we crawl into the lap of our Father. He listens to our needs and shares His unfailing love with us. Through this time with Him, we get to know Him, know His character, know His love for others and receive advice from Him. God waits for us each day and He can’t wait to listen to what we have to say. Whatever it is, He is ready, waiting and wanting your attention. He so desires this relationship with you. Start your relationship; renew your relationship with God today! Simply start praying. He will meet you wherever and whenever. “Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.” 1st Thessalonians 5:17-18 |
